WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL
In pursuance of the directions issued by the our University college has set up the Women Development Cell (WDC) in 2015 under the Guidance of Dr. Veenaben Patel – Chairperson, WDC, KSV to empower the women employees and students. It attempts to sensitize the student and teaching community on issues relating to gender discrimination, women’s rights and empowerment The goal of the cell is to make the college campus a safe place for women students and faculty members. . This cell creates a feel in them that our college campus is a haven and second home to them. The cell functions arduously to enhance their status and thereby empower them through Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, various awareness programs and other welfare activities. . It has been organizing varied academic, technical, medical, cultural and social events for the upliftment of women.
Objectives of WDC
- To create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination.
- To develop the self confidence of Women employees and students.
- To assert the importance of spiritual, economic, social, racial and gender equality.
- To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.
- To organize seminars, workshops relating to women development.
- To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching and non teaching women staff of the College
- To provide and maintain a dignified, congenial working environment for women employees and students, where they can work, study and explore their potential to the fullest.
Composition of Women Development Cell
- One coordinator - Senior Female Faculty nominated by Principal
- One Member from female faculties in rotation system
- One student coordinator from each odd semester
- Girls Hostel Warden
- One female advisor – Lawyer/Doctor/ NGO Representative
How Does One Approach WDC?
- Students or staff can approach any of the WDC committee members with their complaint.
- Students can also approach the Students’ Coordinators, WDC with their complaints
